Default Carbon Shift **** for CGT

Hi Guys,

We've been asked by a customer to do the Carrera GT shift **** in carbon fiber in the same style as the factory version. The customer feels the wood **** is a little out of place in the CGT interior even if it evokes the 917.

Attached are some photos I took at Concorso Italiano of the a factory ****. As you may know, Porsche charges some $1300 for theirs. To make it worth our while, we need to do a limited run of them. We're looking to judge the interest from the group. With all hardware included, we're projecting a price of around 1/3 of the factory version. If you'd be interested, please PM me or send an email to sales@macarbon.com. Thanks!

I have you down for one already Alex! We just need a few more interested parties. If it was just the carbon, we could do something without needing a few orders. Like we did for the Murciélago. But the metal hardware requires machining which requires a minimum order to make it economical. Considering the limited production nature of the CGT, we'd like to line up a few interested people before commencing the project. We would be able to get it done within 5 weeks of starting.

I assume the answer to this question is no, but would a CGT **** fit on a 996 shift lever?

Not sure at this point. You are welcome to get one and find out! :-) It might. But you'd also have to figure out what to do with the shift boot. etc. It certainly would open up the market a little.

Found out last week from a friend at Porsche AG, there will not be a carbon **** offered by Porsche to the dealers. The carbon **** was an option installed at the factory when initial order was placed. Supposidly there are none to be found in the WISH dept. So they say.............

I need one bad !!!!

logically, most shift ***** screw on and most are interchangeable....
so, logically, porsche's in house ***** would be the same, at the very least....
unless they want to make it CGT only

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to clarify a little about what will be included. We are planning just to do the top half of the shift ****. This will replace the wood section. You'll unscrew the wood and wrap it in bubble wrap and put it in a safe place! Then take our out of the box and screw it on. We will not be doing the lower metal section of the lever. I think that would put the 996 application discussion to rest unfortunately.

netburner I wouldn't count on it....
Most owners would keep it with the car. Would be a shame to in 50 years have a car missing it's wood ****
