Get rid of the other cars and get the CGT, once I drove mine I knew I would never want to drive any of my other cars so out they go.

Current cars:
CGT - Every nice day car
S600 - Not so nice days
F350 - Really bad days & Tow vehicle
Caterham 21 GTO - Track car

I also still own a 993TT, NSX and a Testarossa but haven't even thought of driving any of them.

Would still have the 04 E55 as a daily driver...

Those who own the CGT can most likely give me the best advice on this one,

thanks guys for your input

Peter

A bit off topic... but how do you like the Gallardo? Feel free to pm me if you rather not post the reply here.

I' m fortunate enough to have several amazing cars, but if it came down to keeping just one of them it would be a very close call between the CGT and the F40. Completely different cars in character, feel, fit & finish etc etc, but the CGT never fails to leave me breathless after a drive, long or short. It is simply the most competent car I have ever owned and the only complaint I have is the amount of attention it generates, especially on freeways where other drivers get a little too close for comfort.
I agree with Ben - you can't measure the idea of a CGT in terms of waiting for the price to drop. The car is here and the car is perect. Every day without one (if you have the means and opportunity to get one) is one day less on God's good earth. Why wait. You'll only get older and less able to enjoy this miracle of automotive perfection.
I bet you that one blast down a long freeway on-ramp will convince you. In the immortal words of some Nike Ad Flack "JUST DO IT!"

Sheisse!! I am soooo on the freakin fence on this one. I WANT THEM ALL, I have to have them all!!! That's what the little head keeps telling the big one.

SPOILED, SPOILED, SPOILED, ROTTON. I need to go to a psychiatrist before I do anything I think.

But from what I have read here (and thank you all very much), those with CGT's have overwhelmingly indicated that I would not look back at what I gave up. Why then is this so hard???

psychiatrist, that's what I need. But then again, the CGT may be cheaper! See how quickly you tell yourself what you need to hear!!

Keep posting boys! I need pushing!

Polar Peter

I got rid of my 996 GT3 and Maserati Spyder CC as well as going a little into debt again in order to get my C-GT fix.

Pull the trigger!

The Carrera GT is in fact done. Porsche sent out a memo on Saturday. No 2006 models and a total world production of 1,250 units. Also Porsche has an offer for a Carrera GT VIP Tour in Leipzig, Germany Monday June 13, 05 for new Carrera GT owners. Hotel, meals are courtesy of Porsche, also Porsche will reimburse up to $3,000 of air fare.

I am 99% committed to the deal on my 3 trades against a Silver/Ascot 2005 which I drove Friday, Holy Sheisse!

99% meaning I walked in my garage this morning with a cup of coffee and realized I still want them all and I want the new CGT. This is a completely unrealistic option. I think the GT3 is totally replaceable as is the Gallardo, but, the 993TT with 16K miles is the one I am struggling with. That one is rare and I think I will kick myself in the *** within 2-3 weeks of selling it. If I keep it, 75K comes off the trade-in. Realistically with the tax break, I am getting over 81K for the car on trade. Should I keep this one guys??

Most definitely, YES!

Keep the TT and save your butt.

Certainly not the same comparison...but I have been wrestling with adding a Gallardo and trading the TT...but after some serious soulsearching..i've decided to keep the TT for the obvious reason's and build another garage.
