W8MM - Mike, thanks.....that is a very good illustration of the three colours. Signal looks most fun; Fayence looks good and Speed Yellow no longer looks speedy at all in the face of such competition (although the GT3 pic released by Porsche and framed on my garage still looks the part). Congrats on making a brilliant and courageous choice I should make a note to consider signal yellow as a possibility on my next car. Good luck and enjoy in good health.

You're very welcome, Ran.

Signal yellow is old Porsche color #114 from thr late '60s through early '70s.

Chuck Stoddard told me it was dealer-stock for 911S in Europe, but only available special order in the USA.
This is my 5th Porsche in Signal yellow -- you might be able to tell that I really like it.

Of course, they have all been paint-to-sample since the color was out of production long before I bought #1.

It seems to have been a popular 911RS color in its day.

So, it seems that all 911s you owned were Signal Yellow except for the 911RS in Light Green and 996 in Blue. It would be a treat to see some of these pictures if available. Anyway, all the best and enjoy the Yellow fellow. ..And thanks for the Porsche trivia too.

Having only seen Fayence on my monitor, I imagine it to be a truer yellow in line with Ferrari's Fly Yellow. If I have this wrong, please correct me.

I love the signal yellow too. Along with signal orange.

Konrad,

You win the color lotto!

I was told by PCNA higher-ups that Fayence was more or less a copy of Fly yellow.

The reason?

Fly yellow was the most popular of the paint-to-sample yellows that were ordered on Porsches over the years.
