Les,

Tom Williams in Birmingham, AL, has a CGT on their showroom floor right now. It was another one on which someone lost their $50,000 deposit. If you do call, I recommend Steve Huett. I have dealt with him in the past, and he is a class act. Best of luck!

P.S.--Your Porsche collection is heavenly!

If it helps I bought my '04 CGT for 415,000 shipped to my door from St. Louis. I don't know of any that were sold for less, I checked out over ten before I bought this one and it was by far the best price I could get. The local dealer would come down to 430K but not any lower.

I think someone claiming that they can buy one at 390K is a little unrealistic, it sounds like there would be plenty of buyers at that number. I would consider buying another one at that price!

I think some of the people talking about how low the prices are on the CGT are just jealous and trying to make others think that they aren't a great deal.

It is amazing to me what the Enzo's are bringing on the secondary market, considering the CGT is superior in every way I see.

Viken, IN CA dealers are refunding the deposit. I understand dealers outside the CA have done so as well. Dealers nevertheless take delivery and try to sell it. They want the additional allocations.

les.

these are all "asking" prices on cars in autoweek

58 miles, silver/dark grey, $416k, 717-487-8382 (year not listed).

340 miles, silver/terracota, $410k, 831-624-3223 (year not listed), this one has been in there FOREVER.

04, 4500 miles, silver/terracot $400k, 850-832-3809 (they also have an 05 silver/terracota they're asking sticker for).

05, silver/dark grey, no price, 510-502-0172 (perry). i almost bought my allocation in summer 03 from him but it sold the day before i called.

05, silver, dark grey, no price, 708-403-0300, been in there forever.

here are two incoming without prices that they probably don't want to pay for:

05, silver/dark grey, 800-4Boxster (april del)

05, silver/dark grey, 305-496-8892 (march del in fla). cs4s@aol.com

good luck.

ps. you probably know "grey" or "dark grey" is black in the CGT.

Surely you know that the price difference is not in any way reflective of the car's performance or overall excellence. It is instead a measure of the market's perception of potential future collectible value. Enjoy that CGT, it is essentially the equal of the Enzo in every meaningful area of performance.

Les

Jerry is a great guy and I suspect if Ben is correct about the holdback, he will share the majority of it with you.....In 2003, winter was upon him and I bought a new Cab. well below his cost..... a simple wiring of funds and Horseless Carriage delivered the best prepped new Porsche I've seen.....of course I was out of his market and maintained the confidence he deserved.....I sold it within weeks for a nice turn......

Berkley,
From my conversation with Jerry I thought he was a nice guy as well. But he is firm at his 426K price according to the last time I spoke and emailed him.

Jonathan,
I spoke with Steve Huett who was also a great guy to talk to on the phone. They will discount the car 15K and possibly go into the 420K range for their 05. I will keep looking. Thanks for the help.

It's kind of sad in a way that Porsche dealers are having to heavily discount such an incredible car.

I forget who posted it but I agree with him and it is my impression that 415K is about the best one can find a new one for?
