also, curious... I read that a replacement engine for an enzo is $200,000, anyone know the replacement cost on a carerra gt engine?
that's where they probably make all their money, on all these replacement parts... $500k for the car, $500k to fix it with new parts when crashed

Even though it is a great performer, imagine what the new models to be coming down the pipeline will be? They will surely improve upon the CGT.
Thus, the CGT will depreciate quickly because there are so many other choices to buy in used and new market.
If it was priced at $300k then that is more sensible, but at 440k, the initial buyer will definitely get nail for $150k depreciation in first year, because I don't see anyone willing to buy a used one for over $300k.
How many people would buy a USED modern car for over $300k? Only cars would be ferrair f40, f50, or enzo, and they are much more exotic than a CGT.

The thread title was asking if the CGT was worth getting, not whether one can afford it.
I know a lot of guys who can afford it yet balk at spending over 400k for it, yet they didn't hesitate in buying F50's for 500k each because they felt it was exotic enough to be worth it and also it will not or depreciate very slowly.
Off course guys with over 100 mil net worth wouldn't care as much, but for guys with a few mil and can afford this car these are very relevant considerations.

Mine is only $1600 a year, but I do have all my cars and my homes insured with them. Farmer's Insurance....I asked... and asked again to make sure their price was correct for the correct car. The next closest price was $2400, most companies were around $3000 and my original insurance company wanted $8000 - yeow!!!
They were actually more concerned about my 996 Turbo than they were the C-GT. It is about $1200 a year for a car that is worth about 1/4 of the GT. The BMW 750 was expensive, also!
I'm 47, no tickets or accidents.

Hi Les,
Good to hear from you. It's been a while since you posted here. You were absolutely right about the CGT...it's unbelievable! I bet you can't wait for your next one. By the way, you were supposed to give me your take on the CS. Did you ever end up getting one? If so, how do like it and how does it compare to your other F-cars?
Remember, the offer still stands if you ever make it out to Lala land.
