Interesting take...I've always wanted to drive a speciale but maybe I'll just keep my hum drum 458!

Your list of cars makes my past and present list look pedestrian. So I’m guessing you are a fairly tough customer to impress. Your current r/cgt/singer fav trio being one of the more difficult to improve upon (with a 7-4.0 standing in the wings as alternate )!

Unlike the 360 and 430 track specials, the 458 Speciale really is just the same car as the Italia but dressed in sportswear. The engine and suspension are essentially unchanged, the biggest difference in handling came from the wider and stickier wheels/tires combo. I had a normal 458 with the Speciale wheel/tire set up and it steered a lot more “sportier”. Nowadays the track specials from Ferrari are more of a collectors item, they don’t aim to make substantial performance gains, just a nicer set of on-paper stats and some fancy body/interior work. Having said all that, the 458 Speciale is still my favorite non-V12 Ferrari both in terms of driving and ownership experience.
