Mission X

I asked my dealer to be put onto the list as well. I'll be the DE champion with this bad boy for sure.

Porsche won't continue VIP as it stands but potentially a Ferrari style ranking system.
CGT was 440k
918 was ~850k
my guess is 1.75m + for this eventually.
big issue: WHERE will you be able to charge it ?

My dealer just reached out asking if I want them to create what's called a 'lead demand' in the system for me for the Mission X.
From what I gather it's not binding, and I don't think there's any drawback to pulling out if/when the car is officially announced, I'm guessing it's just a way for Porsche to assess initial interest.
As mentioned before this isn't something that appeals to me, but I note it here so that if anyone here is they can contact their dealer and officially put themselves in the system.
No sense of pricing or what the car will end up looking like in its final form.

not excited personally. even if its o-60 in 1.5 sec lol. i only get excited about cars with an engine. 9 years later and the 918 isnt that much slower than this will be,atleast on a freeway. where 99 percent will be driven

Those deals are a big reason that my current Tesla model 3 performance daily driver will be the last Tesla I ever purchase. A great charging network is the only major advantage Tesla has over its rivals….and Tesla decided to **** that away.
More importantly, what network would support the porsche mission x charging speeds? Right now the Taycan can’t charge more quickly in most places due to the limitations of the charging network.

good question. Not sure if Tesla would be dumb enough to allow porsche to use their charging network (like the recent Tesla deals with Ford and GM).

Isn't this car going to be heavy? But maybe 2027 we will have solid state batteries, semi solid state will be going into cars in a few months. This car really reminds me of the Nio EP9 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nio_EP9
We will see what 10 years of advancement in EV technology will look like.

it’s why my only electric car is a model 3 performance which weighs just 4037 lbs, but still does 0-60 in 3.1 seconds. I added coilovers as stock Tesla suspension was crap and my electric car is now fun and “tossable” to drive.
I enjoyed test driving a Taycan Turbo, but despite the great porsche suspension, I could really feel those extra 1100 lbs.
a lightweight BEV is the holy grail of sporty electric cars. Hopefully new battery tech can give us that eventually.

Ignore the part about the 918's V8 being twin turbo, otherwise somewhat interesting...

Looks are already growing on me and looking more “Porsche” especially when compared to other upcoming hyper cars. I can see the cgt and 918 looks DNA coming thru a little. It has a lot less scoops, cut-outs, wings, etc similar to CGT and 918 relative to the analogous cars of their time. Which is ironic because the rest of P’s GT line seems to be going more and more busy each new gen.

Heard a rumor that Porsche is going to do another VIP program with the Mission X. I thought they weren't going to do the 918 VIP program for this car but has anyone heard anything recently?

Are the fast charging speeds relevant to anyone who would actually buy this car? That seems like a feature that's more useful for a family vehicle that may do frequent commuting or road trips, but these are mostly going to be Level 2-charged at home and driven on the occasional Sunday.
I understand why Porsche would include it (to show off what's possible), but if I owned one of these, for the sake of the long-term health of the batteries alone I would never seek out to charge it at maximum speed unless it was truly necessary for a Canonball Run style trip!
