CGT suspension failure (youtuber video)
Obviously some added youtuber excitement but an interesting video in between the beeped out curses and excitement, it also reveals a possible recall-worthy issue with the CGT's suspension.

1. from the video its' not clear if spring broke, shock piston rod broke, seal failure, control arm ....
2. suspension failure is possible on ANY car, not just CGT. while unfortunate, it happens..... (if you keep eating, one day you will get food poisoning) so I am not sure what the video is about.
3. suspension failure has nothing to do with the guy driving easy or not... (you chew slower, you will still get food poisoning)
4. TOO MUCH DRAMA. he should sell it to me for $250k
5. that said, the shocks/spring in CGT are getting old and they are underdamped for US roads. you hit vertical undulation even on the straight, you will lose the rear... ready to catch it.
6. yes, OHLIN next
scared of it? just drive it. if you gonna die, you will die, sitting at home watching TV
OMFG.
I am having a heart attack, and I am not in CGT, just eating my 3rd gallon of ice cream

I didn't like the tone of that video from get go. Information value is really quite limited to me aside from the datapoint that the strut top failed.
To me it's "copy" and move on. I didn't bother to even like or dislike that video.

So they are saying the jam nut backed off? Any way to wire tie it after tightening? Anyone heard of this before?

^ correct in that CF can be laid to have literally any characteristic.
but to use if for auto chassis, the benefit would be to lay it so it has min. flex/deflection. and like u mentioned, not meaningfully measurable.
they do break and usually catastrophically if designed or manufactured poorly I hope PAG got that covered.
