Carrera GT "Online Pro" audio system
I have two questions about the Carrera GT audio system made by Becker Radio.
1. I've experimented with the SD card drive located in the lower left corner of the CD player. I read that the SD card drive accommodates up to 4gb cards. I initially formatted a 4gb card in Fat 32 and loaded about 3 gb of music. Card wasn't recognized.
I then formatted a 2gb SD card using FAT 16 and loaded about 1.5 gb of music. The card is recognized and plays w/o problems.
Based upon this result, I went back to the 4gb SD card and formatted it in FAT 16 and loaded just over 3gb of music. Card is not recognized by the player.
Wondering if anyone out there has figured out the ins and outs of what the system's SD card will and won't accept. Possibly there's a limit on the number of total files (songs). Possibly, the drive really can't handle a 4gb card.
Any info would be appreciated.
2. I spoke w/Becker Radio about the above questions and learned that they really don't have any answers. However, they did suggest adding their Bluetooth adapter to the back of the radio's head unit. They seemed to indicate that there is a connection that allows the use of the same Bluetooth adapter they produced for their CDR-220 radios, used in the 993 cars.
A) Can anyone validate the existence of a port on the back of the radio's head unit for a Bluetooth adapter?
B) Will the Bluetooth adapter for the CDR-220 radio work on the radio in the Carrera GT?
C) I'm told that the portion of the radio that is visible in the dash is actually not the head unit but that it is located under the center island. Does anyone know more specifics about where it's located?
D) How difficult is it to get to the back of the radio's head unit to connect a Bluetooth adapter.
Thanks for your help

I could make the comment "I didn't even know the CGT had a radio..." but that's not productive. But seriously, keep us posted. I don't feel the need to play music but maybe a bluetooth connection to my phone in the future would come in handy if I wanted to run route-guidance thru the car's speakers.

I have never used the radio nor my phone while driving my cgt. Bluetooth or no, I still need 100% concentration while driving this car.

ONLY time I consider it is long stretch of boring interstate getting to somewhere I actually want to drive it for fun.
My radio is always flashing the security code. So, yeah I agree, I don't listen to it. An hour+ stretch on I-95 just going point a-to-b, I've popped in a headphone in one ear before.
I like to make it as drivable as I possibly can: 4 corner lift, blu tooth, whatever allows me to pile on more miles, I'm all for it.
