Default Porsche 959 Problems

Hello Community!
I have another Porsche Supercar Problem.
My Clients 959 ABS Light is on and can't find any information about this System. I looked for similar Systems from this Era ( 928 964 etc ) but they use complete different Setups.
I tried also to get some Infos from a old Porsche Foreworker but he told that the Service Manual from the 959 is many Years lost..
Is someone out there willing to help me with this Problem, any help is appreciated.

Greetings George

Sorry George this is one of the (many) dreaded problems with the 959.

The ABS module does not appear to be serviceable from the lack of details in the workshop manuals.

Does your customer's car keep buzzing while the light's on?

Hi CRex.
First of all Thanks for your reply..
No it doesnt Buzz. I checked the Pressurepump if pressure is building up and it does, but the Brake pedal is hard and as i see the rear brakes are not working as they should ( Had the same Problem on Ferraris from the 90s and its an indicator that the pressure is not enough to unlock the rear system). If someone could share some Informations about general Specs from this System like working Pressure, Wiring Diagram and Components would be awsome.

If someone could share the Work(shop) Manual would be great also..

Greetings George

On the east coast, I know that E.P.E in Natick, MA has in their possession every specialized diagnostic tool, fixture and workshop manual for the 959.

Hi George

How did you get on with the 959, I have one at the minute that sounds like the same issue. ABS Light is on - All the Drive select lights are illuminated with the main one flashing. Although these lights seem to be rather dim compared to the other side of the dash. Brake pedal is solid (no Servo assist)
Sounds like our ABS modules have shut down - Due to test the wiring to each wheel speed sensor tomorrow. My battery voltage is good but will be testing voltage at the ABS module in case of bad earth.

Also trying to locate the workshop manual - Can you help?

Let me know if you are all ready way ahead of me

A very common failure point on the 959 abs system is the double relay. They are somewhat available online and should be an easy/cheap place to start if you have not already. Try that and go from there.
