Cigarette lighter popped out
I trickle charge my battery through the lighter, and it seems to have come-out from its holding place. It still works , but Id like to pop it back in. Anyone have this issue ? Any suggestions?

That's pretty common. It's a VW/Audi part, if you need to replace it order part # 4B0925071A2AQ to avoid the Porsche Carrera GT tax

once fixed. have charger wired directly to battery, then hook up to there.

^ you can't do it yourself.
they have to put car on lift, get to it from RR wheel well. then the wire lead is pulled toward top of engine lid. and zipped tied somewhere
then you just connect charger to the lead (open the engine lid of course)
for me, I pull the lead out from the naca intake on the lid

I wouldn't describe removal as being difficult, but it is awkward. The workshop manual instructs you to remove the glove box to release the locking tabs from behind, which is a project. If you are careful and patient, you are able to sneak in a pick tool and release the tabs securing it from inside the glove box. Here is a picture of the back of the 12 volt socket locking tabs. It may become more clear if you order your new one first and perfect your technique before attempting blindly in your glove compartment
It's a bad photo of it. The part we are talking about is the 12 volt port that is secured to the ceiling of your glove compartment. You press it in and it retracts at a 45* angle to plug it phone chargers or a trickle charger
