Emergency Rear Lid Operation
A fellow member inspired this thread by asking how to open the rear lid during a power loss to power up his Carrera GT. I figured more may run into this so I took a few photos to better describe the procedure.
Hope this helps!
Go to the driver side rear wheel well
Between the rear most plastic portion of the wheel well liner and the rear bumper
Carefully pull back the upper outside edge of the wheel well liner
Look in, towards the back of the tail light. The emergency release cable has a loop fitted to the end
Use a pick tool to reach for the loop and pull the cable towards you
Second view, on a disassembled car for a better look
Viola!
When powering up the car, use these terminals only
Negative post machined into the passenger side of the transmission casing
Positive post under the red cover near the passenger side engine air inlet and relay box
