I know this is just me getting really carried away, but what would it take to make a 959 NA and RWD but keeping power over 400bhp?
And what cost?
And your thoughts?
(Just for my dreaming purpses)
P.S wrong forum but I thought I'll get more answers here
Cheers

whats the deal? Can you share where and why you are coming up with these harebrained ideas of converting perfectly fine cars into something they weren't built for?

Because I have the money and time to experiment and do what I want.
For something to become better, sometimes it has to be experimented with and even become worse.

I'm still too sober to address your question properly but...
What would it take to make a 959 RWD and NA? Well probably remove a shaft, reprogram the ECU and send a 993 96+ engine to Rothsport to bump up the power to 400hp.
What cost? Engine alone (assuming no extreme mounting point change is required) would be in the $70k range. I equally and cluelessly estimate the RWD part to be around $25k (or swap a 993 transmission). Let's say around $100,000 ?
My thought? Well if you find a wrecked 959 I think it's a cool idea! If you have a fully functioning 959, regardless of the mileage / title, I would not do it.

so great, find a car, find a shop, and start writing checks. Asking these quite frankly ridiculous questions on rennlist seems to be a delay in creating this frankenporsche

I think chopping up a 959 is not as good of an idea. Get a GT1 where fewer were produced since you have so much money to burn at this.
Quite frankly, I think we are entertaining a 14-16 yr old but that's just me.
