Default Remus exhaust open/close valve.

Hi guys,

I just had the remus catback+connector exhaust installed on the car and I have a quick question regarding valves.

It seems like valves are open at all times. Even if i idle for 10 mins after driving for awhile in normal mode without really hitting the gas, it's still stays open.

I dont hear the valves open when i put in sports mode since they are open. There is sound difference, but i think it's due to higher RPM idle in sport and sport+

Has anyone observed the valves closing? I would appreciate the feed back.Attached Thumbnails

Did you ever find an answer to this?

I just had my Remus installed, and am seeing the same thing.

I went the crazy route...had porsche install the exhaust button and wiring installed. It worked after that, but noise difference is almost not there. cost me 2k to do it. .

Oh wow...I don't think I'm up for that.

I've reached out to Remus to see if they have any ideas.

I heard back from Remus, and got a pretty detailed answer. Posted below if anyone else is curious.

The sequence as to when and why they open and close is all set by the factory. You may have not noticed it as much with the stock system but now with an aftermarket it is enhanced and much more noticeable.

I have reached out to our factory regarding this in the past and below if the sequence of how they behave. It is the same sequence for the S3 as well. The valves will open and close during all modes and that includes normal/comfort. They do not open only in Sport/Sport + and there are factors set at factory to determine when.

Audi S3 / Porsche Macan

• Both valves are open when idling

• From 15km / h both valves close and remain closed during normal driving.

• At full load both valves open

• Above 3750rpm the valves automatically open

• In 1st gear, the flaps are always open, they close only from the 2nd gear from about 15km / h
