Default Introducing the Flat 6 Motorsports Macan Intake System!

Hey guys, we're proud to announce our intake solutions for the Porsche Macan (all trims). We designed the system to be modular and also a direct bolt on. It's a very simple install and will improve turbo response and power output. The air filters will be shipped by 9/18 and ETA on the carbon ducts is 10/1. We also have the Cobb maps and dynos we will share. Scheduled for 10/14 at the dyno and will provide plots with/without tuning. Go ahead and take full advantage of the pre-order sale. The promo pricing runs through 9/30!

Is this for improved intake sound?

It will enhance sound but the primary goal was to improve turbo response and power output. We'll have dyno plots up shortly.

It improves power output even without a tune to take advantage of the reduced restriction?

I was under the impression the ECM would just lower the boost to make up for less restriction.

I have 3 inch catless Downpipes on my macan turbo but i know they dont add anything other then sound for the time being without a tune taking advantage of the reduced restriction.

We will be data logging to better understand if that's the case. The short answer is we don't know definitively. It's possible that the ECM will detect higher flow and make adjustments but we're not sure how much it will adjust the air to the intake manifolds with the factory calibration. I'd recommend tuning if you do intakes and have catless downpipes, leaving a lot of power on the table without a tune. Like any hardware upgrade, it will delivery the best results with a proper calibration.

Currently have a Cobb on the car datalogging to be able to get a tune, also have hard pipes as stock ones seemed a little soft for the amount of boost the car can produce.

Let us know if we can help. We've got a lot of experience in doing custom Macan tunes. What DPs are you running?

I'm the test bed for EC catless 3 inch downpipes. Had them on for about 1500 miles now logging and checking fitment.

Will get all the dynos up hopefully later tonight. We had a Macan Turbo on the dyno (Mustang Dyno) this weekend and wanted to quickly share the numbers.

Stock vs Stock w/ Flat 6 Motorsports Intakes
Filters/Intakes: +10whp +1 ft/lb

Compared to the Cobb Stage 1 OTS Map:
w/ Stage 1+ Map: +16whp +31ft/lb

We picked up another 14 ft/lb of tq with a conservative pro tune, but the owner had less than 2K miles on his Macan and after all the pulls, had some heatsoak, so playing it safe for some time!

We took the absolute best basline numbers we recorded. I'll get a video together as well, but a couple pics:

With the air filters: a nice gain across the entire rev range.

Here's the plot and numbers for the Stage 1+ Power Kit (Intake System + Stage 1+ Optimized Map) compared to the Cobb Stage 1 OTS map.

Note - the plot had a little more smoothing on it, the picture of the numbers was with smoothing of 1. It has a nice 25whp gain down low as boost is building.

Here it is all together.

Stock
Cobb OTS Stage 1
Flat 6 Motorsports Stage 1+ w/ Intakes

Those are considerable gains throughout the rev range. For only about 400 rpms do we not show a material gain.
