New Cup Fits Like a Glove

New Cup Fits Like a Glove
She fits. Pictures can do no justice to a Cup car.
We sealed the deal on my new Cup. Here are a couple of pics at the shop.
Time to get up to speed to use her. I will be going the POC route initially. Starting with seat time and coaching this weekend in my street car. Then on to Bondurant for 4 day racing program. Then PDS, then much, much more coaching and seat time.
Got my race seat ordered (same as race seat in the picture, but it was borrowed for fitiment) Looking to possibly add ABS, but will do initial session (after personal coaching and racing school) without just to get a feel. I should be running (training in) her early next month after lots of extensive training this month.
Will be adding livery. Cool suit (already plumbed), Smarty Cam, etc.
Any advice, questions or guidance appreciated. Looking forward to meeting a great group of people.

I'm installing a SmartyCam on a 991 Cup this weekend. Pretty Simple with connector provided by AMSO3 here, Jerry. Plugs the bridge directly into the data port for CAN bus access. Plug and play

Funny first thing I noticed was the seat too...those seats are so awesome maybe owner sold it...they do fetch a nice buck
Good luck to the OP...a cup is a dangerous expensive addictive drug...2 of them is even worse...just sayin'

And by the way, if you are new to cups you should absolutely install ABS...it's easy to burn up tires and tubs learning a cup...add the ABS...learn the car...if you want you can then remove it and sell it for little or no loss...

Thanks, looking forward to contributing and getting competent in this beast.
I am looking at doing POC first, which I think is okay with ABS, then if/when I reach that next level can just disconnect the ABS and be compliant. So much to learn.
I had no idea how low to the ground this car was. I was trying to look under the car to inspect the thing and the jeans just came apart. Thanks much.

Thanks James. Will see you out there for sure.
I have seen this multi car slippery slope that many racers get on. Not me, no way. Just one Cup and that's it. I promise
I am really looking at getting the ABS first thing. Not worried about burning up the rubber as we will be practicing on previously enjoyed rubber at first. There is also the little flashy light if a wheel is about to lock up. But, since most club racers are using the ABS, might as well.

When you are threshold braking in a cup...the lights are way too fast for you to react to...and first time in a cup on old rubber is a GREAT way to learn about retubbing your car.
If you buy a cup...do not ever go cheap on the rubber...you will regret it.
