Default 997 Cup refresh questions

I have a 07 Cup that was bored to 4.0L in for a refresh with Autometrics before it times out. Motor has run strong in the 2 years since purchase with no issues or excessive oil consumption. Its been a reliable, fun ride.

This is my first Cup rebuild and I know they (Autometrics) know what they are doing, and my tech in Atl is overseeing it, but I'd like to know more- like what are the major considerations aside form the basic wear items that PMNA recommend? I don't have an unlimited budget so want to put the money where it counts

As example, are Ti rods worth the investment? What else should I consider while in there? What about the crank- does it need replacing necessarily?

Thanks in advance.

Remember a stitch in time saves nine

If you are working with a good shop like AM then just trust them, better to spend $1,000 now and not $10,000 later IMO

Autometrics just did my motor and trans. I went steel rods. My motor makes fantastic power. Let Gordon advise you. He treated me great. I'm very happy with the outcome.

Thanks for the feedback. Autometrics were not chosen by accident, just interested in others experience. Reassuring to know we chose wisely.

Realize this thread stopped midstream.

Autometrics were great throughout, although I only dealt with them vicariously through my mechanic in Ga. (who knows Gordon very well). Engine was ready on time and on budget- no surprises. Some teething issues as I recall (this was back in March)- think we needed to swap out ECUs and try different maps, but engine tight as a drum and no sign of oil (except dipstick).

Raced at The Mitty and the engine felt peaky with relatively good top end and weak bottom end, or both. So took it to a local dyno in June for live tuning and the results were well worth it. Much smoother, flatter curve.

Raced once since and there is quite a difference.

Very nice torque! My 4.0 had more power (was still climbing at 8200!) but less torque. Autometrics wil probably rebuild it and I would be happy with the performance that yours has.

I wasn't there but mechanic sent this from the dyno tune day. They did 21 pulls in ambient 90F to 96F.
Hot 'n loud 'lanta.
