And no. 2.
Notice that they actually didn't change that much! New bumpers/ lights, new doors to get the 991.2-looks and new engine/ modified tranny to fit onto the engine. Wheels, chassis and almost all the other parts remain the same. |
You're quick Yannick. did you build the stand ? (ha ha)
Would there be a more 'intelligent performance" aspect to this than the GenI ? |
Disappointing the new car ..could have done more with the body to look different ..! Good for precent 991 owners I guess

Ha. Just posted similar thread on other forum.
Don't understand the disappointment on styling changes. It's based on .2 GT3 body; exactly as it's always been. Real news is the motor. Time will tell how this plays out. Here's the brochure: |
I thought the 991.2 chassis was going to have some differences with the 991.1. Is that not the case?
|
The big news is indeed the engine. Wonder if it's based on the current 991 GT3 one.

Detuned to make 80h engine life. engine a lot lighter than mezger too |
They claim that they increased engine-lifetime up to 100 hours and tranny-lifetime up to 60 hours. (Both 100%-increase!)
Sounds good on the first sight, but I wonder how much the rebuild for the engine after 100 hours isī? Or is it like with the R8 LMS where you can put it in a junkyard after it reached itīs lifetime of 20k kmīs? |
