996 Cup: lighter flywheel & clutch advice
I think i am in need of a much lighter clutch / flywheel.
Have the original 2004 set up now (see attached)
Main reason is the desire to have quicker/better throttle blips and rev match better. With my current set up, i find it too slow.
Assume the engine spools much faster with a lighter / smaller set up
What's the best value for money set out there at the moment ?
Any recommendations / experiences ?

Triple disc Tilton or Sachs is your best bet.The Sachs came on the 997s. We chose the Tilton for a few of our 996 Cups that upgraded. They have worked flawlessly. If you go with the Tilton, you need to make sure you get the Hydraulic slave designed for higher RPMs.

Check out this video from Bruce who is also selling his 2004 Cup by the way (see Vehicle Marketplace)
This is a 'Tripple Tilton' clutch. I can't get my clutch/flywheel to respond this super quick. These are RSR style quick shifts.
There is no need, but i want this too :-)

Check his video at 48 seconds, and then check mine at 51 seconds.
I don't think the difference is significant tbh.

I would go with the Sachs Motorsports clutch...Changed mine from a Tilton, would never go back.

Remember, rpm's drops faster with the triple too. ....I "think" that is what brant is getting at.
...on the flip side Copans told me lighter clutch is easier on synchros because less mass to match rpm.

Exactly, that and the fact that two Tilton baskets disintegrated in my bell housing...Coulda been bad luck, not sure..I am very easy on the clutch and tranny and I (think) I know how to shift ! I did not have a good experience with the Tilton clutch. Sachs FTW !

I think Tilton is a personal choice, I like it in my '04. I replaced the triple disc after 25 hours and will replace the pressure plate at 50 hours. It takes a little finesse to keep the car from stalling, moving it around the paddock. On the track it's awesome!

Did my first race weekend with the new clutch/flywheel set and what a difference. Picks up significantly quicker and throttle blips are much quicker. Last 2 races was with rolling starts, and tomorrow i'll have to re-master my starting technique with a standing start race day. That is a huge difference and stalling it has happened a couple of times now. But other then that: Super upgrade i can highly recommend.
You can see the differences quite clear i think. First 2 videos are with new set, rest is with OEM set up:

996.2 CUP
Can anyone help with options on this?
I have been told there are some options with Kennedy?
If I was to stay stock what sort of cost are we talking? versus say the Tilton above?
who do you buy from these days?
