Default Porsche Hirschmann Rod End Question

Does anyone know if Porsche uses the standard Hirschmann SMXCP rod ends or doe they use the hard chromed or stainless inner races?

Old thread, but looking at this info now so...

The Hirschmann part # for the RSR tie rod end is GK_SM(L)XCA14IH.14x1.5

so a 14x1.5 thread (RH), pretty sure it is a chrome race & perhaps ball...

Ray

I know the Hirschman rod ends have a "X" stamped on them. Hirshman website stated what that means, I forgot.

Hi George,

Seems like I asked the question shortly after you. Did you get a copy of the spec sheet? If not I can email it to you. It has the motorsports PN on it...

amso3: Yep. I *think* it indicates hardened race and ball. I have yet to find a breakdown of their part number code and this particular on can be had only through PMNA or maybe Hirschmann - looking into that right now

No Last I heard from Hirschmann USA they were still waiting to hear back from the factory in Germany what spec exactly are in the GT3R's. I know the thread and size etc, but wanted to know what spec the race and ball is as they have a couple of options on their website.

If you could email me a spec sheet that would be great. Do you have my email address?

George

George,

PM me your email. I got the cost info yesterday - cheaper through PMNA by ~$5.00 per part. Pretty sure the part is 'special' for Porsche. At least it has markings that are unique, and this is not unusual for Porsche...
