2004 PWC Spec 996 Cup Car for Sale
A very cool car for sale......one of a few 996 Cups that were built to compete in World Challenge back in the early and mid 2000's.
I ran this car for 2 plus years and had some amazing runs in it.
It has come back to my shop and now the owner wants me to sell it.
Here are the basics:
This car was retubbed using a 2004 996 RSR Chassis back in 2008.
It was originally owned by Justin Jackson, then purchased and run by Michael Culver, then purchased by me in 2005 and owned until 2008 when I sold it to a client, with it now back in my hands.
The motor is the high compression 3.6 they ran in PWC back in 2005….it screams to 8900 rpm’s.
Motor has 41 hours on it and should be rebuilt by 50 hours.
Upgraded brakes, upgraded suspension, upgraded aero/splitter per PWC specs back then.
Gearbox has shorter RSR gears and can run up to 170mph (estimated but not 100% sure).
Fuel cell bladder has expired as well as the seat, belts and window net.
The body is in excellent shape and if I didn’t have so many irons in the fire, I would keep it……perfect for vintage racing with this race time period in the mid-2000’s when these cars were faster than any other Porsche around.
The car has the BBS Monoblocs on the car and there are no other spares.
BBS has the same rear Monoblocs for sale and then you would need to find the fronts are go with their new E88 setup.
I know other cars built to this spec have sold $85K - $90K and they were the older spec with the earlier 996 chassis.
This car did very well in PWC with Michael Culver in 2004/2004 and I had some decent success with it in 2005/2006.
Priced to sell at $56,450.00
Here is a pic from back in the day…..Laguna 2006

Somebody's gonna get a GREAT deal. Even with a 30K engine rebuild. GLWS James.
