996 Cup: Best Headers
Have the option of mounting a different header to my 996 Cup. Not sure but i think they are 996 RSR headers.
The OEM version (right side of picture) has different lengths where the RSR headers, (left side) seems to have the same length for all cylinders towards the muffler.
Question is: What would this do to the performance / flow of the engine ? Anybody any idea of what the gain would be keeping the rest of the car stock ?

We have done a bunch of exhaust testing on the 6Cup.
We've found little difference between the headers, slight Tq increase.
We have found good power gains utilizing a different muffler like the DSM one.

I picked up nearly 15 HP after removing the factory muffler and running the DSM mufflers...my cup is a 3.8...dynoed it extensively and the results were predictable and repeatable. I made a connector(equalizer pipe) between the two DSM mufflers and actually dropped TQ and HP, go figure !

Thanks guys. Answer is clear: Going for the RSR headers.
The DSM muffler looks almost like a open exhaust. Is it louder then the stock muffler ?
We're limited to around 103 Db dynamic.
