If any of you guys could help me out with a part number question I'd appreciate it. I just bought an ABS unit which was removed from a 2004 996Cup that is being parted out. The unit I received is pictured below and has a part number 986.355.755.27 stamped into the top of the hydraulic unit where the lines plug in. I was surprised to see this as my understanding is that the 996Cup ABS units are part number 996.355.049.92 according to PET and other sources. The number on the unit I have cross references as a 99-01 Boxster part number when you do a google search. Can any of you please shed any light on this as I'm baffled by this? If you have a 996 Cup, can you look at the number on the ABS unit?

When through my picture archive, I found a nice high res image of a unit installed but could only read 996.355, the rest of the number was obscured. Given the naming convention of the images, it came off a Cup numbered as 340 (GTC3), with a Milner Racing (Ray's Automotive) Windscreen banner, and was in front of a 911 Design Hauler. It was filed in my 2005 Cup folder.

I also found a nice pic of a loose ABS unit with 996.355.049.92 stamped into it. At least you know such a thing exists.
