gear box problem - what to do?

gear box problem - what to do?
hi
its a 997 cup my 2009 (420hp)
i had a problem when switching to the 5th gear - there was a big noise and the gear wont change from the 4th to 5th or 6th.
so took the car off the ground an switched (with engine runing) thru the gears - but at the 5th the same scenario - want get in.
so i drained the gearbox and there are some metal chips and a thing that looks like a wire which is part of a ring? (now there is only a half ring which comes out of the oil drain). (see attached pics).
what is this an what i have to do next?

hi guys
i am located in Austria - so US is not the choice.
and whats with the chips - could this be items from a gear or teeth.
should i bring the car to a mechanic or should i send only the gearbox (heard if you modify the poti for which gear is engaged - motec you need the bosch modas for reprogramming?)

i have put the car to a repair facility and they have opened the gearbox
the main failure was two small ballbearings (5th and 6th gears) which comes out of the bearing seat so the shaft gets loose and then if i want switch into the 5th the dogring become a damage.
unfortunatly also the 5th gear has a scratch and also the pinion
i can send pictures if there is an interest
