Let the big guys chime in here but I don't recommend it at all because the Ethanol's are destroying the foam in the fuel cells. The power is really not the issue the car should have the ability to adjust the timing if you are not driving redline every shift but the foam is the issue

I know of 3 cars that have fuel cell foam replacement and all these guys were running pump gas and storing it with pump gas. These are both Premier and ATL Cells being replaced along with all the filters and fuel pumps. Big money.

I only run 100 unleaded and pump out everything when stored.

My 2 cents and current knowledge.

I have been told to avoid fuel with Ethanol by a Porsche mechanic after putting lower octane in and getting Engine warning lights - mainly misfire codes.
In a 40th AE 996.

One thing to remember about Ethanol is that you have to spray more of it to get your non-Ethanol fuel power level.

Say you're using 100 unleaded, spraying 500cc's worth of fuel, and making 500hp. With Ethanol you would have to use larger injectors to make that 500hp. Numbers are for example use only. But the fact of the matter is, you have to spray more Ethanol to equal what you're making on normal fuel.

E85 requires about 30% more fuel, but the problem is its not very consistent and most times it'll test lower than 85% ethanol at the pump
