997.1 cup : Let's talk Aero
Hello,
I am planning to put a GoodAero wing on my car, with Ed's uprights and will need to balance the front.
I would like to know if someone have found an "on the shelf" solution for a removable (trailer loading...) effective front splitter ? Alternatively, some hints about where and how to attach it to the car would be great ;-)
Many thanks for any help.
Cedric

We put dive planes on a 1st gen 997 to match a factory cup s wing and uprights. They get a little in the way when crawling around the front of the car in the trailer but could be attached to nut plates and removed if you wanted. I believe we used a copy of the 12 'R dive planes. The contour wasn't exactly right but the plastic bumper flexed enough to fit the curve of the carbon part.

I ran the Toth 2 piece splitter with the stock wing, Ed DS uprights last year...The car felt very planted...This season I am adding a GoodAero wing, Ed Demonspeed/GoodAero specific uprights, and will continue to use the Toth splitter...I have some dive planes on the shelf JIC...we'll see how it does! Let's face it, without a wind tunnel a lot of my aero fiddling may end being a futile exercise...I will say the higher up I moved the wing the more planted the car felt though and the Good Aero wing did wonders on my old 944 GTS1 car.

I spent A LOT of $$ have a splitter designed and made for 997.2 front bumpers.
I have an extra one similar to what the 997.2 world challenge cars ran and how the FIA GT3 cars are.
2 piece carbon fiber, the bottom portion bolts to the chassis so it will apply downforce better and not rip off with a small off track excursions. Also have veturi ducts in the bottom of the splitter to create a vortex to help underbody aero and excavation of wheel air turbulence.
I have 1 left that will work with a 997.2 front bumper all carbon fiber at my cost of $3K.
I also have a much cheaper option that is made from carbon fiber and is flat one piece that will bolt onto the bottom of any 997 cup and give 3 inches of protruding surface area for more front downforce.
PM me for details.
I don't make pieces to sell just selling extras i have with no markup, just trying to get my money back so i wont discount.
. I had both made for me by shops that make them for pro teams in grandam and world challenge.

We sell the GOOD Aero wing, and I run one on my 6Cup. I used to run one on my 944S2 also.
Great piece, super light, and Scott Good does a great job.
More surface area and lighter. Get more down force with less drag.
I run a custom front splitter on the 6Cup. It is about 3" and slopes down to provide a nice bump in down force.
