Changing from a 997.1 to .2 decklid
So, I am in the process of adding a 997.2 decklid to my 2008. Doing it for better airflow to the engine.
Everything is going great. Except on the 2008 there is a pressure sensor on the side of the intake (between the decklid and the throttle body)
The 997.2 does not seem to have this. I do not even see in the manual that this sensor exists ?
What is the purpose and where should I mount it.
Thanks
Ed

It measures ambient air pressures for correct ECU fuel/ignition calculations. On the newer cars it's mounted inside the cabin if memory serves me right.
Just drill a hole in the new air filter housing and move the rubber grommet and sensor over.

I noticed this a few months ago. I'm working making crankcase pressure sensor set up for 996 Cup and the intake uses the same sensor. So, it monitors vacuum. I wonder if it is use to evaluate the condition of the air filter. Just a thought
The first photo is of the crankcase pressure (vacuum) sensor and the second is of the 997.1 intake
