Default Problems with a new Modas MSA box 2

Hi

I have a new MSA box II. I have the software loaded and the config files for the cars.

I am trying to attach to a 2008 cup, but I am having problems.

I am running Windows 8 and I have made the program running xp service pack 3 compatible. Still not seeing the car. When I load the config files it give two errors. See the two screen shots at the bottom left of the screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ed

Is it a Grand Am car? I know that I ran into this when I had an 08 Grand Am my regular 08 config would not work. Got the proper one from Motorsports and it worked perfectly.

My error was more around the config file instead of the .dll . I would think your Windows 8 is messing with you. This stuff is older than Bill Gates. Surprised even with a pseudo XP environment it works to that point.

No, but I have the GA config file too and that one would not work either.

I guess my next step is to pull out an old laptop and see what I get.

Thanks

PMNA set up my Windows 8 machine at Sebring last year. I do not know what they did to make it run.

Ed, I have similar problem with my MSA box II I get error: MSA Box Driver not available or could not be started. I tried 4 different laptops 2 running windows 7, 1 running 8 & 1 running XP. Did firmware updates I even tried plugging it into Bosch M4 ABS still same error. A week later plugged it into 05 Cup worked fine then plugged into Bosch M4 worked fine. went to use it the next day back to error message Now sending it to Matt Anderson with Bosch Motorsport for repair.

Here his info & email see if he can help.

I would try an old laptop first.

I nearly got crazy when trying to dignose my M4 ABS : the MSA II worked ok on the ECU, but not on the ABS... Until I take another PC...

Thanks, have not had a chance to get back at this. Will try an old laptop first, but maybe the next step is to get the box in the hands of someone already running one and see that it works for them.

Thanks

as far as drivers are concerned, that bosch software is pretty good.
i think they had an updated version which covered win8.
i ran win 8 on my laptop without any issues whatsoever.
actually, it was the motec SDL3 dash manager (motec, not bosch) which caused me some grief.
i think if you look around bosch's website i think its boschmotorsport.com or something like that, they have a version for 8 i believe.you might have to download the larger packet of tools, the big zip files that then, within it containts just the modas software you seek.
but it should work.

or, if the actual car has an issue, then it might not connect either and you would get that driver fail issue. that is, on one of my cars, if the car power was on, but ignition was off, the ecu was off and i think i recall seeing that driver load error.

if its all connected, you wont get a driver load error...adn if its a config cfg file incompatability, i think it will show that on a screen something like "you have 9234Ukfasd.cfg an dit wants 9244ZZasd.cfg"

and yes, if you have someone with a working setup, try your cable on their stuff.
and if you have a win XP or win 7 laptop or someone has, its a quick install and go.
the install package has the drivers for the laptop,

I got it all working. Had to install bootloaded (on an actual xp laptop) and update the firmware on the box, then it would work (on both the xp laptop and the Windows 8.1 laptop)

Thanks for the help.

I have emailed them to you.

I am also in process of adding this link to the home page at Demon Speed.

Thanks
