Default Towing Vehicle / Trailering

Thinking of buying a used (94/95) Ford Econoline as a towing vehicle.
Drove them many times when i worked in NYC and love these things.
But are they good for towing ? Anybody any experience with these vans ?

Thanks

I tow with a 05 f250 Diesel.
I also two a 24 foot tpd trailer loaded with spares and tools

if its just a open trailer with 1 car and no spares most anything that has a receiver would tow it

I raced 4000# keelboats all over NA twed thousands of miles a year. We had many tow vehicles over a 20yr period, among the best were 3/4 ton lwb van. We had GMCs but i'm sure Ford can be equipped similarly.

Look for a factory tow package w/ receiver w/ wiring for e-brakes, upsized alternator, upsized cooling, upsizes brakes, air bags on the rear can be a nice plus.

I'd love one to tow my car

Have seen multiple folks (plumbers, etc) show up at NE tracks towing closed and open trailers. NNJR PCA has a Van the use for towing to DE events. DE Chair drives it for club stuff (lots of storage) and tows his/her trailer / car.

Ford vans follow the same chassis ratings as the trucks but substitute an E for F: E150, E250 all the way up to E550. The 450/550 is the basis for ambulances and RVs a have serious towing capacity. Folks had a E350 and it towed like a tank.

Sorry I'm way late responding. Yes, I have experience with Ford Econoline E-350 vans. I had vans with towing package and proper hitch attached to rear frame. Towed enclosed and open single car trailers no problem.
