Default Cups on Continentals?

Kind of in line with Peter questions on the R6's; What do you guys know about Grand Am Continental Tires? Those appear to be exempt from the NASA Non-DOT modification factor? are they available in similar sizes to the stock 997.1?

How do they compare to a Pirelli or Michelin slicks?

Thanks.

Steve, I don't believe the Rolex tires that fit on cups are exempt from the NASA slick penalty.

The ST/GS tires are free, GT/DP tires are +.7
I hear mixed messages on them. Some say it's an R6, others say it's beefier. I am thinking it is an R6 compound with a stiffer sidewall for better endurance. Not sure how they will perform. Also, I think you have to a registered team to purchase them otherwise you are buying take-offs.

So if the sidewalls are stiffer, wouldn't that help with the roll that the people complain about with the R6's?

I could not find the tire dimensions for the GS cars, but I thought the were too narrow, does anyone know?

It has a stiffer casing which adds to the tire life. But new out of the box a R6 is faster than a Conti.

Michelin is the fastest slick available.
