Wow..... Why the double wing? Is the DF not sufficient with the single?

I know this sounds like it doesn't make sense so don't laugh...

As I understand it the top wing creates downforce, the bottom wing prevents uplift. But someone with more knowledge than I can explain in more detail.

I was expecting it…

Apparently the lower wing "prevents uplift" from the deck lid whilst the top wing creates downforce. I sure hope someone who knows what they are talking about can explain this...

Whether I know what I am talking about is doubtful at best. But if your assertions are correct, the upper wing in relatively clean air creates downforce by having a relatively increased air speed (hence lower air pressure) for the air traveling beneath the wing.

The lower wing acts as a "spoiler" by breaking up the speed of the airflow coming off of the rear window/deck. Thus, disupting the low pressure and preventing lift. Of course a "spoiler" and a "wing" are two entirely different aerodynamic devices. So maybe it doesn't make any sense.

christ! The amount of wing and rubber on the rear of that space ship is nothing short of awesome!

With that much grip and downforce, one could get themselves in some serious Gs and trouble if not careful
