'07 Cup for sale
After realizing my commitments will (again) prevent me from racing, I'm posting my '07 World Challenge Cup for sale. This was Michael Galati's 2007 primary car and the back-up for 2008, though I do not believe it raced in 2008. I bought the car directly from Jim Haughey, owner of K-Pax Racing in May of 2009 for $160,000. At that time, it had a 12 hour 3.6 liter World Challenge Spec PMNA engine, and a 12 hour gearbox. K-Pax/3R spare no expense in preparing their cars. They won the WC GT title in both 2007 and 2008 with Porsches, so suffice to say this car was championship caliber.
A few highlights:
Fresh PMNA 3.8 liter engine, rebuilt over the 2010-2011 winter. Jim Labine dyno'd it to 470 hp. Maybe 2 hours on it. I have the invoice for those interested.
Low hour transmission. Rebuilt in June of 2010 by Midwest Eurosport, with 2 race weekends since, but no enduros. Manthey blipper equipped (I purchased the blipper from a good RL'er.)
Upgraded Motec Pro Data
4-Way JRZ's
Wired for radio
Includes new AiM Smarty Cam
Fresh Motorsport axles (installed by Kelly-Moss in spring of 2011).
Included with the car are the following spares:
Extra WC front splitter ($$)
Extra rear bumper cap (it came damaged, but I have had it redone and painted to match)
Extra set of RSR Inconel mufflers ($$$$)
Extra set of RSR front uprights
Extra set of BBS WC spec wheels
Extra set of 15" brake rotors
Pretty sure I have some spare PFC pads too.
This car is extremely fast and can challenge for wins in PCA and SCCA anywhere in the country. Cort Wagner posted a 1:54 at The Glen in May of 2010 and a 2:14 at Road America in September 2010. I don't remember the lap time, but he was easily quickest in Saturday practice at Laguna, during the Tuner Grand Prix weekend in October 2010. These times were set with the old 3.6 liter WC engine and in each case, he felt there was time left on the table. To be blunt, he was taking it easy because he knows I get nervous...
Since the 3.8 was installed, it has not been raced. Ironic.
$120,000. Reasonable offers will be considered.
Thanks.

Ha! I like your thinking. If I had any time to race, I would keep this one.
Thanks Glen!

The car has only been driven about 2 hours since the 3.8 was installed. I drove it a few weeks ago, for about an hour, just to get in a few practice laps. The car has not raced since October of 2010.
In addition to my full-time day job, I am a partner in 2 other small companies and we have two kids (6 & 10), so it's very difficult for me to prioritize racing. I'll probably take a few years off and rejoin the fray when things have settled down. Plus, I figure in a few years the kids won't think I'm cool anymore so I can get away on the weekends.

Having bought 2 3R cars 4 years ago, I can attest to their quality build.
This is an amazing value and a lot of car for someone looking in this price range.
With Steve's car in the $185K range and Mikes in the $120K range, both are exceptional values for the right buyer.

Don't have enough time to race right now, so my goal is just to sell for $$$$.
Thanks.
