Default Cup Car Prices

All things being equal for an unmodified car what are the price ranges:

2009
2010
2011
2012

Are there any differences between the 2010 and 2012. Are there any updates to a 2010, to make it competitive with a 2012?

Thanks in advance

Cherry car pricing
09 125
10 150
11 165
12 185 up
13 delivered was 230 or so give or take.
Cats updated in 12
10 cars had a weakness in valve train that was addressed when pmna refreshed and updated in 11 cars on
10 cars had different 5,6 gears that are shorter in the 11-13 cars..
So all the same after available updates. Talking imsa cup USA spec here...

Oops and 09 is basically the same as the 05-09 997 cup. Minor changes in 08-09 gave it a bit more grunt than the earlier ones but not significant. So the 07 is the best of the 05-07 strain and 09 best of the 08-09 strain.
Suffice it to say that is a very broad brush of what you asked and there is a pile of detail underneath depending on your goal.

Glen,

Thanks for the info. Not many cars out there, trying to gauge the market. Any thoughts on this car from anyone?

Yes those are where deals have happened and I'm low on where several 10,11 cars have traded but this seems to be close to where deals"happen".

Car looks good, the reset on miles is interesting. Only pmna etc... Can reset engine hours. You can perhaps still get km traveled from motec.
Car looks good...

The motec km reading is never the same as the dash ODO ..! Don't like the 10666 max revs ..Porsche uk state anything over 10k is automatic rebuild..I have seen supercup data and even for them 10666 revs is high ..I'm sure car ok but that's my view

Porsche Engine Guidelines
Upto 8500rpm Rebuild after 50 hours.
9000 - 9500rpm For over 6 seconds requires immediate Dyno Check.
Over 9500rpm For over 2 seconds requires immediate engine rebuild.
Over 10,000rpm requires immediate engine rebuild.

I have seen cars with 27 seconds between 9k and 9500k
And .6 over 9500
And 10166 max revs

So again theses guidelines ..!

ltmot_w This is the engine hours

ltnmotmo_w This is the total amount of seconds that the engine
has been revved between 9000rpm - 9500rpm

ltnmotm2_w This is the total amount of seconds that the engine
has been revved over 9500rpm

ltnmotmx_w max engine rpm

This will help you read the data picture on the add Christopher

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but....
That's very interesting! You wouldn't happen to know that info for a 996 RSR type engine would you?

Karl,

Thanks for the info. It seams every cup i have looked at has an ECU that reads out similar to that. Does that mean that every cup that has over revs needs an engine rebuild. Or is this just PCNA being a bit conservative.

Expert opinions appreciated.

They are guidelines ..Porsche don't want to see engines blowing up in tv ..! I remember when the 997 cup came out in 2005 there was big failures on track and live on camera .. There was murder ..!

Do a leak down to give uou better idea of condition..! But any car with less revs is clearly better ..nothing a rebuilt can't fix.. Every car has a price ..!

Digging up an old thread for some new input:
Expert Karl is referring to the Porsche Engine Rebuild Guidelines:
This talks about revs from 9000 to 9500 and above.

The Modas i have attached is for a 2007 Cup and shows over rev type 1 = 8200 to 8700 and type 2 = above 8700

Question 1:
Are there different rev limits for GenI and GenII 997 Cups ?

Question 2:
What are your approximate Type 1 and Type 2 over rev seconds in your Cup with approximately what hours after rebuild and max revs (ltnmotm2_w)

Just like to have a better, realistic view on this matter if possible.
