FWIW i know of a 15 hour 2008 CUP car that has been scrapped and has enough parts to bring this tub back to life...

So if someone wanted to build a clone why not just buy a street car (C4 IIRC) tub and cage it? Has to be significantly cheaper yes/no?. Theoretically a non vin cup tub can't run as a GTC4 car anyway. Theoretically of course.....

A C4 would give you a wide body as well.

O5-09 cup tubs are narrow body tubs (street gt3) with c4 front clip, not c4 tubs. They were homoligated from a GT3 street car, not the RS stret car with wide body.

2010+ cups used the wide body tub from a street GT3RS.

I agree with John. I rather have a C4 tub with a custom chromoly cage and wide body, and a perfectly straight and rigid tub if the car can not run or sold as a cup without a vin.

Didn't know this. I thought all 997 cup cars were based on the "homologation" RS model?

Should be right where it is on a streetcar, base of windshield on drivers side . Also in front trunk near fuel cell area if retubbed. I've also seen retubbed cars with it in both areas. Of course retub is preferable to worn out tub or one crashed and poorly repaired so I always consider it a positive unless you find a lower km example. 6 cup tubs have not been available new for some time so....

Thanks Glen. The VIN was on the front trunk as suggested (it's a retub).

If one were to rebody their damaged 997 Cup then they could use their own VIN on this vinless wonder.

OR

If somebody wanted to build a killer d.e car with street car drivetrain they could use their donor street car VIN and title.

I dont think one could find a 997 street tub for this money already stripped and free of sunroof.

I really want this tub!
