just to confirm, its a set of 997 style tall uprights to fit the 996 lid?

ive got a pair of 997 uprights here id happily send but they are from a pre 2010 so not as per the earlier picture. it may be better to use the taller 2010 style.

can you work off of a 1:1 drawing? if so it may be easier for someone to draw round one and post or fax you the outline.

Are the early the same mounting hole locations top and bottom as the later ones ?

Are you looking for 997 uprights to fit the 996 lid for style or function.

I really need the 997 uprights to measure the hole locations. It needs to be the uprights so that I can get the exact locations.

I need to get a couple more data points, but after I do and run some calculations, I will get a prototype for the roof height uprights going.

Does anyone have a picture of what this will look like. I have a feeling that they are going to appear to be extremely tall and 'different' looking.

function first and foremost, id like the extra height like glen and everyone else.
i just think that having it look like the 997 uprights may also give it a better look at the same time. JR had some like this on his 996 i believe.
without changing the style, putting the wing right up at the roof should look like the 996 grand am setup.
i may be in a group of 1 in thinking the 997 style might look cool, in which case please ignore me, ill sort something locally in the new year or go with the group.

edit to add:
heres a pic of the grand am (crawford) uprights. these narrow as they near the top giving them a shape. the 996 cup wing will need it to stay thick at the top and it might not look as nice. if you could work out a way to get a similar shape using the 996 cup wing then you might be on to a winner with these.

OK, I have roof height ones. They are a different style that look more like the 997 style. They are also 5mm thick so they are heavier duty as well.

I also have ones that are the mid height (3 inches taller) as well.

These cost a bit more, so the mid height uprights are $280 and the roof height ones are $330. (plus shipping)
