No clutch on downshifts. Only needed to get rolling from standstill. Probably good to use it in the paddock too, when crawling around.

Adding a paddle shift to the current cup is definitely possible. The strain gauge input could be replaced with the up shift paddle shift button possibly. The down shift blip could be mechanical just like current set-up's. It might not be that hard at all. Shiftech is the paddle shift kit being used on the 991. Shouldn't make the lap time any faster really but would be a little easier to drive.

We are currently working on a solution to the un-programmable ECU as well.
this system is used by a lot of teams in Germany , they say it works well and it's not " expensive" ( 8000 euro)

yes , I drove the Gt3 R and the system put the upper gear ONLY if you push the trottle more than 30 % , when you warm the tyres or you are in the paddock you must use the clutch pedal ...I think it's the same

Interesting, looks like they are running the tall RSR / Grand Am style tires in back. Maybe they will sell a CUP version this year.

tyre size: 31/71-18

No ABS? why not. They've gone this far with paddles, etc. Might as well.

dude, there has to be some sort of driver skill involved.

no true racing series allows abs, even f1, dtm, & alms banned traction control a few years back.

world challenge is the only series that i know that allows abs, and i think it should not be allowed.

George you ran your 2010 without abs and did just fine.

KMP was part of the initial testing of this car and had an opportunity to get the whole contract, but according to Pascal, Porsche wanted him to come down too far on the price. But there are a number of Porsche, BMW and many other marques in Europe using Pascal's system. It is a very highly respected product and it is most likely the system we will offer down the road on our new sequential gearbox.

Very timely. I've just received my estimate from KMP today. If I keep the car, I will seriously consider adding their system.

Call me what you will...

So of course, I had to page back and post this.

Shahine,

Regarding ABS on the cars.......Rolex used to allow ABS back with the 996 Cup cars. WC did not allow ABS after the 997 Cup came out but then factory cars like the VIPER and Vette came out with ABS and SCCA Pro decided to allow it with the 2008 Cup cars and the entire GT class.

Plus I know you were looking for an ABS system for your Club car for a while....

I have driven both Cups with ABS and without, and if the series allows it great, if not.....then no one gets it.
