At what oil & water temp is the car considered to be warmed up and ready to run?

First thing in the morning, start it up for about 15 minutes, let the water come up to temp on idle, then blip it a few times, and shut it down, restart as you head to grid, restart @ 3 minute mark before run session. I run mine on the jacks in gear to warm up trans also.

180+ on engine temp, if the engine temp is there the oil should be as well. On cold dys we will tape the center rad opening to sustain a minnimum engine temp of 180.

The thermostat is fully open at around 160F

Mobonic, around 200F give or take a few is fine. If we are in traffic and the engine temp starts to climb to around 220F we will start looking for clean air .

We like to see this. Many people don't realize that a huge percentage of the wear on transmission components happens when it is cold and still warming up. Bringing the temp up under zero load goes a long way to longevity.

We also like to see the car run a couple times on the lift back in the shop when a new bearbox is done to bed in the gearsets.

On the GT3R I warm up it in the paddock to 160-180, then take it very easy for the first 3-4 laps of the first practice - half throttle, shift at 5k to complete the warm up and get the gearbox up to temp. Usually see steady state water temps of 210-220 with oil about 220. Seems a bit hotter than mentioned above, but I guess the RSR motor is a bit hotter ;-)
