OK,

Got my first two pairs of wing uprights from the shop today.

Again, these are exact (or exact as a CMM will get me) replicas of the stock uprights, only 3 inches taller. (which I understand to be the height of the grand am or Crawford upright)

It has the same holes in the same positions as the stock upright. All of the same mounting holes and the same wing adjusting holes.

All of the adjusting holes fit with all 3 of the wing holes, so everything fits and fits well.

Here are a couple of pictures. The first is one set that is mounted on the car with the wing. The second and third pictures show a comparison in size to the stock uprights.

The nuclear symbol is for me. I work in the nuclear industry. If I have enough interest, I can make more of these. With the nuke symbol, without, I would let consensus tell me what I should have on the side. I can do a GT3 or pretty much anything.

The cost would be $225 if you would like it plain, or $250 powdercoated black.

More, if you would like a custom cut out. (only because I would get charged more for a single setup.

Oh yea, this is for a 6Cup. I am not sure the mounting sizes of the 7Cup.

Thanks

Ed

I have a NIB World Speed Challenge 996 front bumper as pictured below. It's not for sale, but could be borrowed locally if someone wants to make a mold....

PS: Big wings slow you down. You think you have understeer now, try it with a RSR wing. The 60' wing is plenty wide, just use the taller uprights to get cleaner air.....

Man, wish I was local. That is exactly what I would like to make a mold out of.

How about a rental fee ?

Why Matt, did you find one?

I'm trying, but... ZSA's are for the 997, and I'm hoping that I can make something happen with Glen.

Might have to drive down to Oakville to see what Ernie has.

In the mean time, scored some nice JRZ' that should be here soon

Thank JRG - I was just thinking that ie why not just start with the uprights and maybe a gurney flap?

Re your splitter - is there much undertray?

And Ed thanks for the pics! FF will mail you later.

Again, I'm in the camp that thinks wings can be intrusive. Yes it's a little more to handle with the smaller wing but if setup properly it's definately faster.....

Yes the undertray goes back quite a bit with vents. It's up in the rafters, maybe I'll get it down tomorrow and shoot a pic.

We have a guy locally who makes molds and splitters as pictured in my avatar. That splitter is angeled downward and leaves little room for air to get under the car. The WSC splitter on Wolfie's car goes out level but with a big-*** lip. I'm not sure which splitter is more effective. I'll give him a call tomorrow and see what he wants to produce the WSC version...

I'm having too much trouble shipping the big stuff down here .... Ie $1000 seems the min for shipping due to size equivalent wgt issues.

Vents - do you mean for the brake ducts?

thanks JRG - a friend just bought this monster and it has a massive/beautiful front splitter..
which I can now access and copy ... thinking Kevlar for durability, else CF.
Think FB won't have the strength to withstand the Venturi

Obviously if I can standardize on something it would be cheaper, but custom is always an option for a bit more money. I do not have a font for the GT3 that is on the side of the stock upright right now, but I am sure that would not be hard to get my hands on.
