Default GT3 cup vs RSR suspension geometry

I was hoping some of you guys might have some insight that could help further my scheming...

From what I understand, 996/ 997 RSR rear uprights are lighter and improve the geometry vs Cup uprights. I'm wondering how the geometry changes. Is it simply that the RSR upright is designed to work with a lower car? Or are there differences in camber gain or other aspects?

Basically I'm truing to figure out what the relative advantages would be if the uprights were used on something other than a 997 where the inboard pickups could also be moved freely as required.

On a related note, if anyone has any camber gain specs, etc, for a cup, RSR, etc they would be much appreciated.

That would be nice...

This thread had me thinking there were more substantial changes:
"There have been geometry changes between the 996 Cup, GT3RS, GT3RSR, and 997 Cup uprights both front and rear that affect the bump steer of the car."
https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...-uprights.html

But that was from 2009. Another post suggested that "The double bolt front carriers and 6 bolt rear uprights were introduced on the 2004 GT3RSR race car, then carried over to the 997 Cup. They also were introduced to the public on the GT3RS Street car for MY 2005."

So that plus your post has me thinking that the 997 uprights are now effectively all this new six bolt standard as far as the mounting points, etc are concerned, and that any geometry changes between models are accomplished by links and varying the locations of the inboard pickups.

Sound right?

from my talks with a alms rsr team, yes they are different and allow a lower ride height and better geometry.

but i dont have any first hand knowledge or data to back this up, but the source is very good and knowledgeable. (lead engineer)

You also need to use different offset wheels with the RSR rear uprights. It pushes them outward.

I like your scheming!
Hopefully someone will post the kinematics you've requested as well as: bump steer and roll center migration. I too have been looking for these. Only thing I've found are written descriptions at higher than cup ride heights and 993 graphs. :/
