Default FS 2004 996 GT3 Cup Car

2004 PORSCHE 996 GT3 Cup
WPOZZZ99Z3S698096

This is a factory GT3 Cup Car originally sold to Farnbacher Racing and raced in the Daytona 24 hours in 05’ .TRG rebuilt the car with a new tub and sold it to Zotz Racing. Zotzs upgraded the car to GrandAm specs including RSR suspension & brakes, and a complete engine and transmission rebuild by Porsche Motorsports and raced in the Rolex 24 Hours in 06’ where it finished 8th in GT class.

Between 08’ and 11’, the car spent most of the time in Las Vegas on display in Planet Hollywood, and was owned by the current owner who drove it in various D/E and club racing events.

In October of 11’, the car went through a major maintenance replacing the following:
NEW: Transmission rebuild by Copans
ATL Fuel cell and 2 fast fill jugs
Factory Headers by Porsche Motorsports
All new Lexan side and rear windows
2 sets of Fikse wheels
Seat & belts
Paint ( $5000 )
Full suspension setup & maintenance
Rotors, plugs, coils, oil-water separator
Air box
The car has also been upgraded to 07’ specs. All parts listed above are brand new and the motor has approximately 45 – 50 hours since a factory Porsche Motorsports rebuild.
The car is setup for GrandAm with all the tricks….Aim MXL Dash w/laptop and transponder, communications, fire systems, air jacks, Cool Box, LED oil level, etc. Oil fill is via Sobek Oilpick (http://www.sobek-motorsporttechnik.e..._lkm-19/i.html) endurance racing setup and the refill canister is not with the car. A stock oil fill tube and gasket is included with the spare parts. Also note, there is no wand ( air jacks) with this car. Both the Oilpick and Air Wand can be purchased from Cup Car Solutions (http://cupcarsolutions.com/)

Please feel free to contact Ron Zitza at Zotz Racing for any additional questions on the car.

Color: Champion Motorsports built a 997 TT Werks tuned by PFAFF

Performance: This is a fast car. The last race it was in was PCA Okertoberfest in Daytona in October 11’ and the car posted a 1:57. All items above were added after this event and the car has been in the warehouse since.

Ok I am really not trying to be a wise guy, I am just interested in what upgrades specifically were done to a 996 cup to 997 07 specs??
I am interested in getting another 996 cup and would love to learn more about them.
I have done a lot of upgrades to my 997 cup, so I am not shy at doing mods, I just want to learn more.

Thank you in advance for your info.

as this is not my car, I'll have to ask the owner????
I've been told that " all 07' updates" have been done to the car so now I am also curious since I have a 993 Cup and other than the intake system, I don't know of any upgrades on mine....
fair question.

The VIN and Wagenpass say it's a 03' cup not a 04'. There were minor differences.....

The post above was from me on Martin's computer. I'm at his vineyard in Paso Robles drinking all his best wines and forgot to log him out....

You are correct....the 10th character of the VIN is the model year and this is a 3 for 2003. See what happens when you help a friend sell his car

I still will attest that this car is in extremely good condition and it is a very good car for anyone that is interested.
