Yep, stuff just breaks, but a stub axle with two or three hundred hours on it is (IMHO) tempting fate. I of course have no idea how many hours are on the components that failed in this thread, and when or if they've been replaced.
less than 100 hours on the axles.. and each time the wheels / tires changed checked or any reason the were installed with power gun to 250 or so ft/lbs torque and then tightened to 325-350 ft lbs of torque with the 4 foot torque wrench..
they just fail when you least expect it...but while we are there we will change the bearings...
