Default For Sale (maybe): 2000 GT3R, ex LeMans, Daytona

I am considering putting the GT3R up for sale. The car is absolutely fantastic, and I love driving it, but it's a very rare car and I am thinking I might get
more enjoyment from something with a little less history.

This car is extremely fast - I have raced it wheel to wheel twice and easily won overall both times against world challenge spec viper comp coupes, etc. I did a shakedown at Inde Motorsports Ranch on old tires and ran a 1:49.x which the track owners told me was the fastest lap time set by any Porsche that had been around, including an IMSA GTC team that had been there testing.

History: Factory 2000 GT3R, ran 24 hours of Le Mans in 2000 with Mike Colucci Racing, several European Le Mans Series and ALMS events in 2000. 2001 sold to TRG and ran Rolex/ALMS as the #66,67 and 68. Multiple appearances in the 24 hours of Daytona, finishing as high as 3rd overall as the "Rennwerks" (flying lizard rental) car in 2003.

Full history here: http://www.racingsportscars.com/chas...ZYS692110.html

Tub is in perfect condition, no repairs or damage (it was retubbed somewhere in its life).

I purchased the car from James Sofronas in 2010 with a blown engine and missing many parts. It underwent a complete restoration. Everything either replaced or rebuilt.

The whole car has approximately 6-8 hours since the full restoration (have to check the dash hour meter).

New fuel cell ($$$), new pumps, new axles, rebuilt uprights, rebuilt brake calipers, new wheel bearings, radiators, hoses, etc etc.

3.6L Full 2004/05 RSR spec engine built by Chris Cervelli. This is a full RSR spec engine, with real RSR heads, titanium valves, cams, cam decks, high compression pistons, etc. Not a souped up cup motor with throttle bodies. It has the 3-ring "endurance" pistons, not the 2-ring sprint pistons and is good for ~50 hours between rebuilds.

H Pattern GT3R/RS Gearbox
3 way ohlins all around (fully serviced prior to installation)
Huge RSR Brembo Brakes front and rear (15" front rotors, 14" rear)
Cockpit adjustable bladed rear sway bar
Motec dash with brake pressure, GPS, etc

Negotiable spares package available including: 4 sets of wheels, Front bumper (fresh white paint), 1 front and 1 rear ohlins 3-way shocks, 5.5" tilton clutch, flywheel, various carbon ducting and other difficult to find (expensive) pieces, 2 rear carbon diffusers, shifter cables, brake pads, rotors, headers and more.

I suck at taking pictures - but here are a few.

Wow Clay! And you just finished it!

But then I know how you feel. Sometimes I wish I had bought a cup with no history that you could take out a flog without worry. I've actually thought about getting one just to race and park the Becker car...you guys did too nice a job on it!!

This is a beautiful and fast car. And it makes all the right noises...

GLWS!

(and if you get "just" a cup you won't be lapping me quite so fast....)

Car was retubbed at one point, you bought it with a blown engine etc..... IMO the history of it is somewhat irrelevant and wouldn't hold me back from driving it. If you're like me and get bored fast once it's done then go ahead and GLWS but if not, just drive it. You've put A LOT of time into it.

$400 takeoffs Michelins = lots of smiles under the helmet!

I figured I would put the car out there if someone is interested in a fresh one for a lot less than it will cost you to buy a blown up one and redo it....

As I said I would consider partial trades for a 997 cup, or maybe even the right 996 cup.

If no takers I will keep on flogging it

I'm thinking a bit more seriously about trying to move this car. Sequential envy strikes again....

If someone's interested please contact me - maybe we can come to a deal.

Clay, I can't believe you are going to sell it now that you don't have the black and pink beast to fall back on! Love to watch you drive... always on the edge. GLWS.
