I think I know the original owner of the car, I should have bought it when he sold it many years ago. He was incredibly fast in the few races he did in it. Back then Porsche ran ads in Autoweek for the cars, they were quite expensive but anyone could buy one. The model nomenclature in the ads is confusing though, is it a CUP or RSR? And a GT2 is a Turbo, right?

Wonder what PCA class it would be in with a "turbo chassis" and "GT2 components"?

Just curious.

methinks that the advertiser's copy editor is confused
That car looks like any other 993Cup

A 993 Cup is in PCA GTC2

all the 993Cups were built on n/b C4 chassis because of the provisions for the electro-hyd brake boost, all RS/RSCS & Cup used the same racing oriented abs seen in the pics, the turbo chassis is the same as a C4 except for the wider rear fenders

all the 993Cups used the same suspension as the RS & RS/CS except for shocks, springs and solid rear subframe mounts. The turbo and GT2/evo archs have provisions for turbo related ancillaries but are other wise the same as the n/a as are the suspension arms except for bushes, some GT2 and all RSR used uniball bushes which were not used on RS or RS/CS or Cup

Suspect you're correct. Thanks Bill.

That reminds me ... next time you're at 901 Shop, give me a heads up. I'd like to stop by and say hello.
