Default 996 Cup information

Hi, I first off want to thank the members here for the nice forum you have. Seems like people generally want to help each other. By helping others, posting photos, videos, and data you've also helped me, Thank you.

Unfortunately I am not finding all the information I need, I have been pouring through data for the last week and a half, so I figure I might as well cut to the chase and ask specifically. I am looking for a lot of technical info for the 2002-2003 Cup car, but if you have earlier or later 996 info by all means I welcome it. So I'll get right to it.

What is the weight distribution of the car dry? wet?

What is the gear ratio of reverse, if you have a tooth count that would be fantastic!

Center of Gravity height? (At what ride height?)

I've been looking for ZF Sachs damper data, Does anyone have damping curves for the valving front and rear?

How much preload is generally used for the front, rear?

For the front suspension I think SPS 4's were used, is that correct?

Does anyone have damping curves for the valving front and rear?

Has anyone a blueprint for the suspension arm layouts front and rear?

Has anyone slip curve data for the Michelin Porsche Cup N-1 tires "Blues" ?

And finally, I'm looking for a dynos from a 996, 997, and 997.2 World Challenge cars. I realize the 997.2 probably isn't going to happen, but hey never hurts to ask.

Any other technical information that seem relevant to simulating the characteristics of the 996 Cup car are also welcomed.

As always,
Thanks
Andrew

I can't answer your technical questions, but the 02' cup came with non adjustable Bilsteins, the 03-05' cars with the 2 way Sachs.

I've witnessed dyno runs for many 996 cups. They range from 325 whp for a early car, to as much as 365 whp for a later 03-05 car. These would be completely stock GTC3 compliant cars.

The 05-07' 997 cups range from 360-380 whp, the 08-09's from 380-405 whp, and the 10's & 11's around 415-425 whp....

Bump with additional questions.

I now have 3 sets of numbers for front and rear track looking to see which is correct.

#1 F: 1495mm, R: 1503mm
http://www.porsche.com/germany/sport...11gt3cupcoupe/

#2 1515, 1578
http://latestfiasco.com/Specs.html

and

#3 1485, 1495
http://www.competentmotorsport.com/w...cification.pdf

1 and 3 are closely linked, and the difference can be attributed to tires. Although there is this:

https://rennlist.com/forums/1781227-post5.html
Perhaps that is as a result of rim size change?

If you take this info:
https://rennlist.com/forums/8802360-post3.html
and subtract the width of a tire, it backs up #1.

This specification data (page 52):
http://www.irc.org.nz/wp-content/the...11-Sch-GT3.pdf

Backs up #2.

So which is it 1, 2 or 3? Looking @ 2002, or 2003 specifically.

Any insight into how each number differs from the next is greatly appreciated.

TIA

More questions:

Is there any difference in size between the street GT3 rotors and the Cup?
What is the diameter of the 'hat' surface the rim mounts to (front, rear)?
How is the brake bias split between the front and rear?

What is the closest 'RS' pad to the P50 in terms of friction coefficient?

Are there any differences in the steering rack Street to Cup?
If yes,
How many turns can the steering wheel be rotated?
What is the steering ratio?

What is the maximum or minimum angle of attack of the wing?

Graciously Appreciated,
Andrew

I don't.
I'm just a Porsche enthusiast/3D modeler/gamer that is looking to bring as much accuracy to an rfactor/rfactor2 mod as possible.

Rfactor is great! i do not own a 996 cup either. The 996 german sim mod was much better then the current 997 mod. They are way too fast.

Looking at Anti-roll bars now.

28.6x4.0 front (5 holes)

20.7x2.8 rear (4 holes)

Looks like the holes are 10mm, spaced 15mm on center.

Does anyone have measurements (can take measurements) for me? I am building a model and doing some FEA simulation to get a spring rate. Any sort of measurement I can trust is helpful.

My "quick and dirty" model of the rear gives rates of 25163 to 20408 N/m, any feedback as to the accuracy of those rates is also appreciated.

TIA

Had a feeling that was the case

Good luck in your project.
