Default Help With Rear Plexi Crack

I have a crack developing in my rear plexi window. Developing from the outside edge inward toward the center, only about 3" at this point. One option I've seen is to drill a small 1/8" hole at the leading end of the crack to eliminate any further travel. Any other suggestions or is a drilled hole the best remedy?

Make sure that you use a drill bit designed for Lexan (McMaster-Carr). If you use a regular one I promise it will keep giong.
