Default Question about 996 GT3 Cup Radiators

Hi guys!
I got a question about the 996 cup Radiatorexit in front of the front Wheels.

I just got a 2001 996 Cup car. the Car was damaged and repared at the front and the rear(bumpers, all new inner wheelarches, nothing too bad) but never driven after that.

When i got it, i noticed that there is no exit in the inner wheelarches for the radiators.
i also own a 997 Cup(2007) and that car has huge exits driving the air to the brakes.
but the 996 does not?

Did they install the wrong parts? or are these factory race parts?
im concerned about the cooling because theres no way the air can go, besides the small gaps between the plasicparts, of course.

i could also include a picture, so you guys can see how those parts look like. just let me know.

im also looking for a 2001 manual/parts catalog. i ordered one from weissach, but they only had the 2002 ones.
im sure you guys can help me out
iam also new to the newer style cup cars. only had older porsches yet.

thank you guys very much for your time and help!

Glen is right. The exits in the 997 Cup were developed for better cooling.

if you are not running in a spec class and can modify, its quite easy to cut a hole in the back fender liner and instal mesh, then you can purchase the 997 Cup brake scoops and install them

FYI ( I did this to my 997S Race Car)

When I got mine I couldn't believe there were no rear exits like the 997 or bottom exits like the 993. That reminds me, this slipped off my to do list....
