Default Stated bhp. Rear wheel or engine?

May be a silly question (in what may begin a long line of silly questions)... ...but looking at Cup Car specs, the 2001 Came with 370bhp but is that rear wheel horsepower, or engine horsepower?

Engine. Rear wheel is probably about 30 less on most dynos which are optimistic.

30%? Wow that's high... I'm an early car guy and used to around 15% average loss....

Thanks for the quick response.

I think he means 30 hp, not 30%.

[Homer] D'oh! Of course he does. [/Homer] I thought it was impossibly high and I must be reading something incorrectly but where I read the "%" when their wasn't one there, well I blame that on lack of Java this morning.

Thanks.

All the Porsche specs are crank hp - but you can't trust any of them. The 2005 cups were still rated at 385 hp (I think - maybe it was 400 by then, can't remember) and many pull 380 rwhp in stock form. The new 3.8s are rated at 450 flywheel, several are dynoing 420 or better at the wheels.
