Default FS: 2001(+'05 updates) Porsche GT3 Cup, World Challenge spec.

I bought the car late last year from the original family which purchased and raced the car new from PMNA (Johannes and Tom van Overbeek). I've only taken it out for 2 sessions + the 3-day SCCA school at Thunderhill. Link to their original PCA post selling the car.

The car had less than 10 hours on the motor and transmission since being refreshed by PMNA before I bought it, and I've put about 5 more hours onto it. I also had a AiM MXL + Smartycam installed by Gorman Motorsports. I also put in a new clutch, heat exchanger, replaced all 3 radiators (due to age), and new 6-pt belts.

Included with the car is 2 extra sets of wheels, 4 sets of scrub slicks, 1 set of rains, Ohlins tools, and a bunch of spares. I also have all the paperwork (including JvO setup data for the car) and receipts since the car was new. The car has been setup to JvO's old specs by Jerry Woods Enterprises in nor cal. All maintenance / service / checks have been done by Christian @ Carlsen Porsche in Redwood City.

The car is extremely fast and easy to drive (thanks to all the Flying Lizard tricks ). Over the cyclone @ Thunderhill in December I ran 1:54.12 in the second session ever driving the car, in the damp and on old scrub Yoko slicks. It has a few more seconds in it, easy. :-)

The only reason I'm posting it for sale is I have the chance to get a local 2009 997 Cup for a great price and it's closer to the Grand Am / Patron cars I'd like to run with in a year or 2. I'm probably going to get the 997 either way and definitely don't need 2 Cups, so I'm just posting this in case anyone is on the fence about a new race car before Spring arrives.

I'm asking $70k for the car w/ all the spares, which is less than what I paid for it. I'd prefer selling it to someone outside the bay area so I don't get beat by my old car...

It'll make a great SCCA/NASA/PCA club racer. It'd take some work to be legal in the Pirelli Drivers Cup (due to the World Challenge tweaks / RSR parts), but could be done.

PM, reply to the thread, or email me (mike@weirdo.com) if you have any questions or want more information. Thanks!

-mike

Defcon 1 has been initiated.

I'm going to have my guy throw on the spare set of rotors and the new set of Pagid Yellow 19's I ordered last week, then do a once over on the car. After that, it'll probably be sitting in the shop until it finds a new home. If you're interested, let's make a deal. :-)

2005 F430 6spd (non-F1) hardtop w/ 9800 miles, polished Ferrari Challenge wheels, Fabspeed high-flow cats and Capristo Race Exhaust. I'm about to put it up on consignment at the local dealer if anyone is interested in that too....
