Default Michelin Cup N-1 Camber Settings

Michelins memorandum dated 5/18/10 suggest front camber range, -2 to -2.75 and rear -3.5 to -4.25 due to stiffer side walls. The front setting are dramatically different than the typical -4 to -4.5 for the old Blues. Those who have used this new tire how are you setting up your F/R camber?

Every year it seems they back it down a little more. Oddly enough, they keep coming out with new/better versions of the tires but keep suggesting less camber with every itteration. What the hell is all the R&D for then??? Give Michelin two more years and they'll be suggesting -1 camber max...

We ran more than their suggestion at the Glen and VIR and didn't have any problems. Oddly enough, I've only had problems with their yellows which they specifically suggest for certain tracks and, of course, they suggest lower camber for those as well. I ran their suggested tire and the suggested setting and nearly totalled my car twice due to two failures...

Disclaimer...Don't rely on anything I've said here....

Tire wear and temps were very good across the tire. If you haven't run the N1's, you're in for a treat. Think greens, a little bit better and they last a lot longer.

Do you really think the N1's last longer over the Greens???
Here in Australia we are stuggling to get 125km out of the rear tyres & not much better on the fronts.

At the last GT3 Cup Challenge race meeting at Eastern Creek in Syndey these were the fastest laps. We are only allowed 6 tyres per weekend.

Qualifying : 1:35.4 (4-5laps) (20km)
Race 1: 1:37.2 (9 laps) (35km)
Race 2: 1:39.0 (9laps) (35km)
Race 3: 1:37.4 (12laps & everyone put 2 new tyres on, I put rears on and some put right hand side) (47km)

By the end of race 2 the tyres were undrivable. With the Greens we would still be only 1.5 seconds off qualifying for the whole weekend and only put new tyres on to get a little advantage. What has everyone else found??

cheers
