David do you have the 2006 or 2008 ratios in your car? Was yours the one for sale in england a year or so ago?

The car is an '06 and has '06 ratios, but the actual gears are newer as it was rebuilt by Brian last year. When I bought the car in the UK from Parker Racing, Parr rebuilt the engine to '08 spec. At that time it had about 423hp at the flywheel on the dyno.

This is a good setup I think, shorter gears and newer spec motor.

At Road Atlanta I didn't feel like I was leaving too much on the table regarding power to the 08/09 cars. My terminal speed on good laps on the back straight was just at 159.9- 160.1. WHat were you seeing?

In the second spring race, the other fellow that you were with that beat me -- he was a pretty good driver and yes in that case I wished I had more juice. I would get a better run onto the back then he would pull just enough to make it too risky to pass under braking. If only the race was one more lap....

This is just sort of a side question for those of you driving these cars. When shifting the car, can you tell a difference between the 06 and 08 spec gearboxes? Is there anything better (or worse) about how the car actually shifts and drives? Or is it strictly the claimed improvements in strength and serviceability?

Yes, Randy is a good driver. It was both of our first time there, so we really didn't start to get it until the Saturday, and me further on the Sunday for the Enduro.

My fastest lap all weekend was a 1.2812 and Spencer Pumpelly, who tested my car on the Thursday, did a 1.2684. Looking at the data of those two laps, he was 161.2 before braking in the back straight, and I was 1.595. But most of the 1.5 secs I gave up to him came in the first part of the track.

My box needs $15K of work, 5 gears, R & P and a lot more
And it doesn't work too bad the way it is, just worn out.

Almost makes sense to buy that box for $25K

Mike that might not be a bad idea. That or you could help me get PCA to change the rules governing the casing of the gearbox and you could get a brand new Quaife for about $18,000 or so?

I just thought that someone would be interested as these don't come around too often.
